Would you drive 1400 km in 2 days to photograph a proposal? We did!
We were contacted by Ross who is based in Manila, Philippines to photograph his proposal to Christine on their trip to South Africa. When we were told it will be at the luxurious Phinda Vlei Lodge in Kwazulu Natal, we quickly made a plan to get down there and capture the special occasion.
Organizing everything was quite a challenge since Ross was on the other side of the world. All I knew is that we will be going on an exclusive game drive around the park and that Ross will pop the question during one of the stops.
When I got to Phinda, the weather wasn't looking ideal. Rain was coming in which is always needed however it was making the proposal seem impossible. On the game drive, the weather magically started clearing and off we went. I pretended to be a wildlife photographer in order for Christine not to get suspicious as to why I am with them on the romantic afternoon drive.
We got off at the most amazing Marula tree. Phinda Vlei Lodge had organised a lovely setup for the couple and right there and then, Ross got on one knee.
Needless to say, she said "Yes"!
Afterwards, myself, the game ranger and Ross were much calmer and we proceeded on the game drive. We saw black rhino, elephants, cheetah and late in the evening, 3 lionesses and beautiful male lion.
Thank you Ross & Christine for choosing us and trusting us with this special moment. Meeting and working with you both was an absolute pleasure.
We hope to see you in the future.
